Summary

This is an exciting and challenging position working within the Group Sustainability department. Your role in the team will be to report effectively on sustainability performance/strategy with a focus on energy and carbon. Drive continual improvement of sustainability performance across the organisation through targeted programmes and initiatives. Be a recognised expert and promote innovation in a particular area of sustainability, such as energy/carbon, responsible materials procurement, sustainable building design and community engagement. Be a champion in sustainability, encouraging behavioural change throughout Redrow. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the corporate sustainability strategy, helping to strengthen Redrow’s reputation in this area.

  • Identifying and interpreting London’s built environment sustainability requirements including providing support to divisional planning and technical teams on BREEAM

  • Support work winning through bid support, innovation, client liaison and up skilling of colleagues. 

  • Provide support in the design and development of a post occupancy evaluation programme

  • Conduct stakeholder research to determine key materiality issues and incorporate the findings into the overall development of the strategy

  • Identify and share examples of community consultation best practice around the Group

  • Further develop sustainability performance measurement and reporting systems including, energy usage, carbon emissions and socio-economic value

  • Report on company performance in industry and non-industry sustainability benchmarks like the Next Generation Benchmark

  • Provide support in publicising, both internally and externally, the sustainability progress being made by Redrow

  • Represent Redrow at relevant forums and through presentations to industry groups like the UKGBC 

  • Coordinate sustainable procurement

  • The role requires a depth of experience working in sustainability ideally with a background in the built environment, possessing a strong knowledge of BREEAM

  • Degree and / or Masters in a relevant discipline 

  • Strong analytical, rigorous approach to data, league tables and KPI’s 

  • Superior organisational skills and ability to deal with multiple projects at the same time.

  • You will be confident in presenting ideas to senior management and assisting with developing and delivering employee training.

  • A full driving licence is required
