We’ve also received an innovation award for our recent work on Social Value - just one of a range of exciting projects in our portfolio that focusses on sustainable operations, homes and places.

We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for a new Head of Sustainability to help take our successful sustainability strategy to the next stage. 

Key Responsibilities

  • You’ll be responsible for leading the ongoing development and delivery of our sustainability strategy, ensuring it is aligned with our business principles of Creating Thriving Communities, Building Responsibly and Valuing People. 

  • You will ensure that projects deliver maximum value for the business, measuring impacts and continuing to cement our reputation as a sustainable leader in the housebuilding industry.

  • Reporting to the Group Development Director you’ll be leading a small, successful team of sustainability professionals and driving forward a series of projects with teams across the business.

  • Deliver successful projects with measurable outcomes that add value, including waste minimisation

  • Deliver our vision through motivating and inspiring others to create change

  • Be naturally collaborative in your approach, working with teams across the business to deliver impactful projects

  • Be a sustainability spokesperson for the business, helping maintain and shape our reputation as an industry leader in this area

  • Identify emerging sustainability trends that might affect the business, drawing on your existing sustainability networks and participating in industry events to shape our responses

  • Positively manage relationships with our partner organisations

  • Have a readiness to be involved in operational detail, such as robust data management, as well as wider strategic thinking

  • Provide advice and support to the Board of Directors and others across the business on sustainability issues

  • Be experienced in managing successful and contented teams, helping individuals meet their potential
