Summary

In this role you will get to work in various areas of the Health, Safety and Environmental Department and contribute to a variety of key projects, including supporting the Governance, Operational and Environmental aspects of the HS&E function. Our aim is for you to gain a real breadth and depth of experience and take on early and increasing responsibility.
Over two years, you will be mentored by some of the most experienced people in our industry. From the offset, you will be supported to develop your skills and knowledge through structured training and guidance, enabling you to excel in your chosen career.

What we are looking for

1. Governance

  • Assisting with the production of HS&E Management Information, including Data Analysis, presentation of statistical and observational trends and the reccomendations for action needed.
  • Assisting in the development of the in-house HS&E data capture platform.
  • Assisting in the development of the Redrow HS&E Management System, including producing gap analysis of the current system.

2. Operational

  • Support the Divisional HS&E Managers to promptly investigate all health, safety and environmental incidents as required by company policies, in accordance with company guidance and timescales.

  • Make known to all relevant parties any significant findings/recommendations and ensure lessons learnt/alerts are captured, developed and communicated effectively throughout the business.

  • Carry out unannounced “impartial” site and office HS&E Assurance Inspections in line with current frequency arrangements and provide written reports with Divisional HS&E Managers. These reports are impartial and objective to ensure that they provide a “black and white” picture of current performance and compliance with all relevant aspects of the Redrow HS&E Management Systems.

  • Support the Divisional HS&E Managers in measuring and monitoring performance to ensure credible information is provided to the Divisions via Divisional HS&E Leadership Meetings and Board Meetings to enable Divisions to make informed decisions.

3. Environmental

  • Collaborate with all departments in Redrow to help continual improvements to environmental processes and procedures. Working with construction sites and offices in developing adequate environmental management plans. In turn providing support to identify environmental risk across all Redrow business areas and manage relevant mitigation to reduce environmental impact.

  • Assist in conducting environmental site inspections and internal audits. Supporting Redrow Divisions during external audits and aid where needed to ensure environmental compliance.

  • Analyse environmental data from near misses, incidents and non-conformances found during inspections and audits. Identify trends and develop systems to make ongoing improvements.

  • Raise any environmental issues through the required channels and report in a timely manner.
