Based in our Head Office at St David's Park, our Commercial Apprentices have the chance to learn all about Commercial Management from some of the best in the industry. It’s a two-year programme, delivered in partnership with Coleg Cambria and at the end of your apprenticeship, you will have gained excellent recognised qualifications as well as a wealth of experience.

For those who make a real mark, there’ll also be the opportunity to go on to study for your degree and gain a full RICS membership – all fully funded by us. There really is no better way to start your career in the industry.

Key Responsibilities

To assist with administration duties at procurement stage, preparing enquiring packs and collating tender information.

To assist with the assembly of Health & Safety policies e.g COSHH reports

To assist with chasing information from both suppliers and sub-contractors deliveries

Departmental filing, photocopying and collation of information on a regular basis.

To assist with the issue of Health & Safety Contractor Competency Questionnaires for new contractors. 

Ensure familiarity with Redrow’s Group Health, Safety and Environmental policies and comply with employee responsibilities.

At all times comply with company policies, procedures and instructions.

Implement new ideas and methods and continue to seek ways of both improving the contribution to the organisation’s goals and enhancing the reputation of the company.

These are illustrative duties and the post holder will be expected to become involved in a range of work to enable the region to respond effectively to the requirements of the business.

The Sales Department in a Homes Division is responsible for marketing and advertising the company’s developments locally, ensuring at all times that a professional, corporate image is projected which promotes the Redrow brand. The key objective is to achieve sales at the appropriate rates/prices in order to achieve the annual turnover forecast for the Division.

The Department is also responsible for managing all sales leads generated to their respective Division by Group Marketing activity, and closely monitoring conversion rates.

The Department works particularly closely with the Build Department as well as manages the interface between the various departments of the company and its customers, from initial contact through to plot completion and occupation; and post completion customer service.
The nature of the role requires the job holder to travel to all the Division’s developments and to spend time on each, as required to fulfil the responsibilities of the role.

Area Sales Manager

Summary

The Sales Department in a Homes Division is responsible for marketing and advertising the company’s developments locally, ensuring at all times that a professional, corporate image is projected which promotes the Redrow brand. The key objective is to achieve sales at the appropriate rates/prices in order to achieve the annual turnover forecast for the division.

The Department is also responsible for managing all sales leads generated to their respective Division by Group marketing activity, and closely monitoring conversion rates.

The job holder works closely with the Area Construction Managers to ensure company standards are maintained and target legal completions are achieved.

The value of sales, per development, is typically £5 - £10 million. The job holder is typically responsible for approximately 6 developments.

The opening days/hours for sales on site are determined by the Head of Sales and may include occasional late night openings or seasonal variations.  The job holder is required to demonstrate reasonable flexibility with regards to days worked.  It is a Company requirement that all information held within the management information system (SBMS) is complete and accurate by close of business on Fridays.  If this has not been done during the working week the Sales Consultant(s) is/are expected to remain in work to complete this task.

Senior Quantity Surveyor

Summary

Control of costs, from procurement to Final Account for all aspects of cost. Administration of Sub-Contracts. Production of internal valuations.

The Surveying Department in an Operating Division is responsible for monitoring and controlling expenditure on all the company’s developments by controlling the “cost of sales”, as well as ensuring that all Group Commercial policies and procedures are adhered to within the company.

The post holder is responsible for Procurement, Payments, Valuations and administration of Health and Safety procedures.

Technical is involved in every stage of the house building process, from initial feasibility studies on a piece of land to the delivery of final layouts to our sales teams. As such, it’s the best place to be if you’re keen to experience the bigger picture.

Our technical teams think about every single detail so that we create beautifully designed homes that have superb ‘kerb appeal’. For each location, they create the architectural and engineering designs that will form the basis of the new development. They’ll provide working drawings to our build teams, but their involvement doesn’t end there. Far from it. They’ll be on hand to provide expert advice at every stage of the construction process. Join us here, and you can expect to be everything from an architect, highway designer, landscape designer, structural engineer and an interior designer all in the same day.

It all makes for a hugely varied career. Whatever your role, you can expect to play an integral part in the entire development lifecycle. You’ll also work with a wide range of people. The professional face of Redrow, you’ll engage with everyone from local planning authorities and county councils to the Environment Agency and the fire service. The technical department are involved with the Redrow product from inception to completion.

Technical Coordinator

Summary

To assist in the management of all external consultants to the Technical Team in the production of drawings for the design and construction of residential developments, in accordance with instructions from the Management Team. Designs to be submitted to and approvals obtained from the appropriate regulatory Authorities, with the aim of maximising the quality of product and profitability. The Technical Coordinator will provide support to the other departments in the Division during the development process.

The role of the Technical Department is to provide a practical and cost effective technical service to the Company.

This will encompass site evaluation, architectural and engineering design, solutions to any technical problems encountered. This will often involve require the appointment of and co-ordination of external professionals.

The Technical Coordinator will be allocated specific projects to run, following grant of planning approval. They will then coordinate the production of working drawings and associated information to enable the site to move to the construction and sales phases.

The Technical Coordinator will be an experienced AutoCad user.
