Summary

The Senior Designer will be given specific projects to run, either at the design stage or at planning approved stage. They will either prepare the planning/design drawings and associated information that enables a site to achieve the necessary planning permissions or coordinate / check and issue externally supplied information.


Responsible to: Technical Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • In accordance with corporate responsibility for the business, work with the Land & Planning Departemnt on new sites for the business

  • Produce layouts and Technical reports for Land Appraisals with minimum supervision.

  • Provide technical support and information to Construction, Commercial and Sales departments and maintain good communication to ensure the required level of service is maintained.

  • Assist the Technical Manager in fee negotiation and the appointment of consultants.

  • Produce and submit Planning Applications and obtain planning permissions and other statutory approvals, relating to environmental, ecological, archiological as required and satisfy any imposed conditions.

  • Prepare Sales and Legal information e.g. Conveyance plans, sales area layout drawings.

  • Assist with th in house Planning supervisor’s role.

  • Comply with responsibilities as laid down in the Group’s Health, Safety & Environment Policy.

  • At all times comply with company policies, procedures and instructions.

  • Implement new ideas and methods and continue to seek ways of both improving contribution to the organisation’s goals and enhancing the reputation of the company.

  • As required, from time to time, produce designs for layouts, house designs etc.

  • Miscellaneous approvals such as foot path closures, sales signage etc.

  • Liaise with Redrow Group Placemaking & Design & Technical Departments as required

  • Conduct site visits and meetings as required

  • Liase directly with the planning authorities and other statutory bodies in the pursent of the necessary planning permissions
