Summary

Working as an apprentice you will support with the day-to-day running of a busy office undertaking various administration duties on a daily basis. As part of the apprenticeship you will be studying L3 Business Administration with one of Redrow’s chosen training partners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

To provide administration support within an office setting by:

  • Answer the telephone/take messages
  • Typing, photocopying, scanning and laminating
  • Greeting visitors in a professional and courteous manner
  • Raise purchase orders using in-house system
  • Monitor stationary and reorder as required
  • To ensure the reception area and meeting rooms are tidy
  • Receive goods/services into reception and keep a log of deliveries
  • To monitor and process post both in and out
  • Assist the Office Manager and other departments with mail-shots, reports and presentations etc

Support with administrative assistance to various departments within the divisional office
At all times comply with company policies, procedures and instruction

Project Systems Analyst

Summary

The Project Systems Analyst works alongside other stake holders (Users, Software Developers, Testers and DBAs) as part of a Project Team to deliver new and updated Redrow IT Systems. Working under the supervision of a Systems Team Leader they will gather and document business requirements, produce wireframes, write technical user stories, assist with the design, testing and implementation of new and updated business applications. Graduate Software Programmer

Summary

The Graduate Software Programmer will follow a dedicated scheme in the IT department to develop their software development and database skills in Object Orientated Programming and SQL.

Working as part of a development team they will develop the necessary skills to create new or maintain existing applications as defined in business requirements. They’ll work closely with the System Analysts, DBA’s and testers in order to ensure that systems are built and delivered according to the development procedures.

 

Below are some example job responsibilities you may gain exposure of:

Develop Applications

  • Working from application design documents, user stories and UI wireframes, work with the Systems Analyst team with guidance from fellow developers to understand the requirements.

  • Develop new or amend existing functionality using the chosen technology stack in line with coding standards and best practices to meet the needs of the business.

  • Attend project meetings, stand-ups and other related sprint meetings to assist in the development of work as defined with your manager.

Test Applications

  • Thoroughly test all changes made to the application code base to ensure all functionality developed meets the requirements specified and functions without error.

  • Write unit tests ensuring a high level of code coverage is achieved, executing unit tests prior to committing changes to the version control system.

Support Applications

  • Working with IT Support and other departments within the organisation, help in identifying and resolving issues within the application codebase.

L&D Graduate Trainee

The role will support our Learning & Development Department in achieving its purpose of providing guidance and support for circa. 2,300 staff, comprising of 14 divisions and Group Head Office located throughout England and Wales.

In this role, you will get to work in various areas of Learning & Development and contribute to various L&D projects including the design and delivery of the Green Academy.  You will work with stakeholders from across the business to ensure the project is delivered on time and to budget.  Our aim is for you to gain real breadth and depth of experience and take on early and increasing responsibility.  

Over two years, you will be mentored by some of the most experienced people in our industry. From the offset, you will be supported to develop your skills and knowledge through structured training and guidance, enabling you to excel in your chosen career.

  • Liaising with employees, Managers and Directors in the Divisions for their input and feedback into the L&D initiatives and projects. 

  • Liaise with third parties to ensure clear expectations and deadlines are met

  • Undertaking L&D projects as required by the Head of Training / Group HR Director

  • Working alongside the training and talent teams support with any related training and development initiatives

  • Feed into staff engagement initiatives by attending engagement group meetings, staff engagement surveys and staff communications including Engage
