To contribute to managing the Company’s Land Bank to ensure that development sites (greenfield/brownfield) are brought forward through the Planning System as forecast; and contribute planning expertise as required regarding potential land purchases.                

The Planning team in an Operating Division is part of the land buying team and contributes planning expertise to all potential land purchases; greenfield and brownfield, short term and forward options.

The Department is also responsible for managing the company’s forward land interests, both options and land acquired.

The post holder may also report to the Group Planning Director on specific land/planning issues.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist in the management of the Forward Land Bank, ensuring it is effectively promoted through the Planning System with relevant Local Authorities in order to achieve appropriate Planning Consent and identifying new opportunities.

  2. Identify landowners of potential development sites and liase with landowners/agents throughout the negotiation and acquisition process to successful completion.

  3. Monitor development plan progress throughout the region and make
    representations where appropriate.

  4. Provide information and advice within the Division on the operation of the planning system and forthcoming changes in National/Divisional/Local policies.

  5. Manage planning appeals and assemble the most appropriate Consultant Team.

  6. Advise the Company’s Technical Department on a range of issues relating to the planning function.

  7. Research the planning history of development sites and provide appropriate advice.

  8. Ensure familiarity with Redrow Group’s Health, Safety and Environmental policies and comply with employee responsibilities.

  9. At all times comply with company policies, procedures and instructions.

  10. Implement new ideas and methods and continue to seek ways of both improving contribution to the organisation’s goals and enhancing the reputation of the company.

  11. Negotiation with Local Authority Planning Officers on individual planning applications and Section 106 Agreements.

  12. Negotiation of options with landowners and agents.

  13. Ensure an up to date and efficient database is maintained to assist in the implementation of current and forward land policies in the company.
