Summary

As an office apprentice within the Customer Service department, you will be assisting colleagues with a range of duties whilst we support you to achieve NVQ Level 2 in Business and Administration whilst assisting our customers with any issues they might have after moving ino thier new Redrow Home.

In one of our busy divisional offices, no two days are ever the same and you will be constantly learning from, and working with a wide variety of people from different disciplines as you work towards your qualification.

Customer Services Trade Apprentice

Summary

As a Customer Services Trade Apprentice with Redrow, you will work with one of our customer care technicians, learning all of the skills and knowledge necessary to become a competent maintenance operative and support customer services with completion of a quality product.

Tiling to walls and floors, painting and decorating, basic plumbing repairs, replacing defective or damaged woodwork, repairs to external boundary walls and fences, basic roof repair work, ensuring work areas has been left clean and tidy and liaising with customers to ensure that service delivered has met their expectations.

You will also learn to build and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, customers and managers which is fundamental to a maintenance operative as well as cleaning, maintenance and storage of materials and equipment

You will work with experienced tradesmen of a wide range of disciplines, as well as being supported by your site manager and the Redrow team to complete an industry standard diploma and NVQ qualification, as well as required functional skills learning.

Based in one of our divisional offices, our Commercial Apprentices have the chance to learn all about quantity surveying from some of the best in the industry. It’s a two-year programme, delivered in partnership with the University College of Estate Management and at the end of your apprenticeship, you will have gained excellent recognised qualifications including Associate of RICS, as well as a wealth of experience

For those who make a real mark, there’ll also be the opportunity to go on to study for your degree and gain a full RICS membership – all fully funded by us. There really is no better way to start your career in the industry.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

To assist with administration duties at procurement stage, preparing enquiring packs and collating tender information.

To assist with the assembly of Health & Safety policies e.g COSHH reports

To assist with chasing information from both suppliers and sub-contractors deliveries

Departmental filing, photocopying and collation of information on a regular basis.

To assist with the issue of Health & Safety Contractor Competency Questionnaires for new contractors. 

Ensure familiarity with Redrow’s Group Health, Safety and Environmental policies and comply with employee responsibilities.

At all times comply with company policies, procedures and instructions.

Implement new ideas and methods and continue to seek ways of both improving the contribution to the organisation’s goals and enhancing the reputation of the company.

These are illustrative duties and the post holder will be expected to become involved in a range of work to enable the region to respond effectively to the requirements of the business.

Technical is involved in every stage of the house building process, from initial feasibility studies on a piece of land to the delivery of final layouts to our sales teams. As such, it’s the best place to be if you’re keen to experience the bigger picture.

Our technical teams think about every single detail so that we create beautifully designed homes that have superb ‘kerb appeal’. For each location, they create the architectural and engineering designs that will form the basis of the new development. They’ll provide working drawings to our build teams, but their involvement doesn’t end there. Far from it. They’ll be on hand to provide expert advice at every stage of the construction process. Join us here, and you can expect to be everything from an architect, highway designer, landscape designer, structural engineer and an interior designer all in the same day.

It all makes for a hugely varied career. As a technical apprentice, you can expect to play an integral part in the entire development lifecycle and learn from the very best.  At every stage of the process, you’ll take real pride in the award-winning developments you’ll be helping to create.

Supporting the technical department in meeting its operational objectives.

Accompanying technical department team members on site visits.

Attending day release at college to study towards the appropriate qualification as advised by training@redrow.
