Redrow Homes are looking for an individual who is passionate about supporting others in an office environment. Working as an apprentice you will support with the day-to-day running of a busy office undertaking various administration duties on a daily basis. As part of the apprenticeship you will be studying L2 Business Administration with one of Redrow’s chosen training partners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• To provide cover for the main reception, this will involve greeting visitors and answering a high volume telephone calls.

• To provide administrative assistance to the department.

• To assist with photocopying and collation of material including high volume scanning.

• To ensure that there is sufficient stationery within the Department and to reorder as and when required.

• Departmental filing on a regular basis including uploading onto electronic document management system.

• Ensure familiarity with Redrow’s Group Health, Safety and Environmental policies and comply with employee responsibilities.

• At all times comply with company policies, procedures and instructions.

• Implement new ideas and methods and continue to seek ways of both improving the contribution to the organisation’s goals and enhancing the reputation of the company.

• To identify the need for improved office procedures.

Redrow Homes are looking for an individual who is passionate about bricklaying and other aspects of building to join as an Apprentice Bricklayer. As part of the apprenticeship you will be studying a L2 in Bricklaying which will include both theory and practical with the NHBC.

NHBC designed the first Brickwork Training Hub to immerse apprentices in a realistic working environment and give apprentice bricklayers the chance to build substantial structures on the large covered concrete slab. The Training Hub, is a unique, purpose-built facility, equipped with classrooms, welfare and catering facilities.

The Training Hub supports our commitment to addressing vital skills’ gaps in the industry and it will also help improve a key trade that is integral to building high quality homes.

Your time as a Bricklaying Apprentice will be split between working outdoors on site with an experienced tradesperson learning from their years of expertise and, intensive block release training at the NHBC Brickwork Training Hub in Tamworth. The 18 months programme will leave you with the essential industry qualification. It takes time to learn the quality and skills necessary to be the best and we are looking for candidates who are willing to commit the time needed to achieve the best.

As a Trade Apprentice with Redrow, you will join the next generation of house builders, fulfil your passion and start gaining skills needed to build the incredible communities that Redrow are well known for. Housebuilding is an exciting industry and this is the perfect way to kick-start your career. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conforming to general health, safety and welfare in the workplace
  • Set out and build brickwork, including complex arches and surrounding brickwork, curved on plan, concave and convex brickwork and battered brickwork
  • Mixing mortar by hand or with a mechanical mixer
  • Laying the bricks on top of each other and applying the mortar with a trowel
  • Shape and trim bricks/blocks using hammers, chisels and power tools.
  • Use of laser levels, spirit levels, optical levels and string lines to check that courses are straight, horizontally and vertically, and laid to a gauge
  • Operating equipment on site in a safe manner

Technical Administration Apprentice

Summary

This is where every existing and new house within the Redrow portfolio begins life. Every single house is designed and detailed with a full compliment of working drawings to make construction as smooth and efficient as possible. All houses, new and old, are routinely reviewed and updated to meet latest regulations and guidance, or to meet a latest trend. The team are on hand to provide expert advice at every stage of the process. Join us here, and you can expect to see the department involved in everything from new design work, liaising with structural engineers, kitchen designers and NHBC all in the same day. It all makes for a hugely varied career.

As technical administration apprentice, you can expect to play an integral part in the entire development lifecycle. You’ll also work with a wide range of people. The professional face of Redrow, you’ll engage with everyone from our commercial, finance and interior design teams to divisional Technical directors, at every stage of the process you’ll take real pride in the award-winning developments your contribution will be helping to create.

You will be working towards a Level 3 NVQ in Business Administration, with the option of progressing on to further education. Some travel may be required as part of your training and education.

To join our industry-leading programme, you’ll need at least 5 GCSEs at A* - C (9 - 4) including Maths and English as a preference.


During this 2 year programme, you will:

  • Be mentored by experienced staff in their field

  • Understand the commercial pressures and demands of a modern housebuilding development

  • Take active part in projects that test and develop your abilities, independent thinking and challenge and have a genuine impact on the business
